CODE-ENCODE

Delegates spend four hours of the conference decrypting a message intercepted on a Pakistan-China line. Discussions continue in favour of operations to prevent war on dual fronts.

A message sent from Pakistan to the People’s Republic of China was intercepted by RAW and the alarmed delegates immediately sat down to decode it. Four hours of continuous brainstorming led to finally decoding of the message.

The code, when broken down read, “Once upon a time, there was the Son of Marichi who married the eight daughters of Daksha. His wedding bed was made of white stones, sprayed with desert sand. On the night of the wedding, when the drums of the feast were the loudest, Zulaji emerged in the spaces between the empty forts.” There were many possibilities to this message that led to a lot of confusion.

In the opinion of the Additional Secretary RAW, there was no strategic location mentioned in the message and there was no point thinking from that perspective. While Joint Secretary RAW thought that it was a well crafted attempt to divert the focus of the committee from anything specific, he remarked the message to be blatantly vague as Pakistan had willingly given up on parts of Kashmir in the past and thus deciphering of this message was nothing but a clear waste of time.

The Joint Secretary, Area I decided to look at this situation from a military perspective and decide a logistic taking into actions India’s previous actions on such matters. He figured out that no interceptions could be made without finding the possibilities of the past. He also agreed to the possibility of distraction in this message.

The Director General Security put forth the possibility of the motive to be similar to that of the Mongols. He stressed on the significant relation between Pakistan and China.

Further the delegates worked on decrypting the real meaning of the message. Considering the eight daughters to be some territory, referring marriage as some kind of meeting and the wedding bed to be a river bed, the Joint Secretary, Area IV concluded that the wedding night did not make any sense.

Special Group added that the meeting place could be somewhere inside the Jammu and Kashmir territory and there could be chances of some cease fire.

After all the discussions, 90 percent of the code was decoded and the Director revealed the final and true solutions to this mind-boggling message.

The delegates were thrilled and it led to a question -Is China actually going to help Pakistan in this cover mission, because if so, why have we not yet intercepted a reply from their side?

Deciding not to wait for a reply but start working immediately on the operation, the delegates proposed that although this could be a complete diversion, we must not remain aloof and take covert measures and remain prepared for any action whatsoever.

Taking into consideration that if the discussions of the meeting seep through the walls of the conference hall, Pakistan could completely change the plans, this mission was a complete secret.
